Nora Hapca
Violinist/Romania
Born in 1986, Nora began playing violin at the age of six in her home town Baia Mare, and completed her musical education in Bucharest (Romania) and Cologne (Germany) where she received the “Erasmus” award at the Musikhochschule Köln with Prof. Mihaela Martin.
She is also a member of the International Mahler Orchestra both as an orchestra player, as well as a regular member of their chamber music concert series. Nora has won many awards in national and international competitions, including the second Grand Prize at the “Remember Enescu” International Competition in 2003.. As a result she was invited to participate in that year’s edition of iPalpiti Festival in Los Angeles, and has been an iPalpiti member since then, touring the USA, Slovenia, Austria and Israel, and performing at the Mozarteum Grosse Hall in Salzburg, Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, and Carnegie Hall in New York. Currently Nora lives in Germany and is playing in the Academy of the Staatskapelle Berlin, this season touring Japan and China under Daniel Barenboim.
